Hitonkala andersontau
Taxonomy
Hitonkala andersontau was named by Macdonald (1963). Its type specimen is SDSM 56120, a skull (skull, with unworn dP4/4, P4/4-M3/3. Upper and lower deciduous fourth premolars removed (by writer) on right side to expose P4/4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sharps (SDSM V-5354), which is in a Geringian terrestrial horizon in the Sharps Formation of South Dakota.
