Masculostrobus sahnii was named by Vishnu-Mittre (1956). It is not extant. Its type locality is Nipania, which is in the Jurassic of horizon the Parsora Formation India.
It was recombined as Podostrobus sahnii by Rao and Bose (1971), Chandra and Tewari (1991).
