Taxonomy
Euomphalus rennstiegensis was named by Dietz (1911). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rennstieg near Epichnellen, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Zechstein Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Straparollus (Leptomphalus) rennstiegensis by Yochelson (1956); it was recombined as Leptomphalus rennstiegensis by Wagner (2023).
