Taxonomy
Hyracodon priscidens was named by Lambe (1905). It is not a trace fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Hyracodon arcidens by Sinclair (1922), Wood (1926), Wood (1927) and Russell (1934); it was synonymized subjectively with Hyracodon nebraskensis by Scott (1941), Radinsky (1967).
