Taxonomy
Nyanzachoerus khinzir was named by Boisserie et al. (2014). Its type specimen is TM 17-97-001, a partial skull (a partial cranium missing the zygomatic arches and the rostral part of the muzzle, bearing the left P3-M3 and the right P4-M3 in moderate to incipient wear (Fig), and it is a 3D body fossil.
