Taxonomy
Dercetis magnificus was named by Chida et al. (2023). Its type specimen is TMP 2001.042.0017, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Korite International mines, St. Mary river, which is in a Campanian offshore shale in the Bearpaw Formation of Canada.
