Nihohae matakoi
Taxonomy
Nihohae matakoi was named by Coste et al. (2023). Its type specimen is OU 22397, a partial skeleton (near complete skull, missing the right jugal and both lacrimals and pterygoids. Both periotics, bullae and stapes are present, and the right mandible is preserv), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tokarahi, which is in a Duntroonian marine limestone in the Kokoamu Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
