Sellithyris binalubensis was named by Baeza-Carratalá et al. (2023). Its type specimen is SC1402, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sierra del Cid, bed 14, which is in a Cenomanian carbonate marl in Spain.
