Taxonomy
Armadilloniscus miocaenicus was named by Broly (2018). Its type specimen is IHNFG-4990, a carapace, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Mexican amber, Campo La Granja (IHNFG collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in the La Quinta Formation of Mexico.
