Taxonomy
Ictops acutidens was named by Douglass (1902) [also said to be 1902]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pipestone Springs, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial claystone in the Renova Formation of Montana.
It was recombined as Leptictis acutidens by West (1972), Novacek (1976), Korth (2022).
