Helix silvana was named by Klein (1853). It is extant.

It was recombined as Palaeotachea silvana by Salvador and Rasser (2016); it was recombined as Megalotachea silvana by Salvador et al. (2015), Salvador et al. (2015), Salvador and Rasser (2016).
