Guggenheimia glykeia
Taxonomy
Guggenheimia glykeia was named by Chornogubsky et al. (2023) [Diagnosis: Largest species of the genus. More like G. crocheti than to G. brasiliensis in being proportionately longer than wider, with more robust cusps, and having a larger hypoconulid. It differs from all other species of Guggenheimia in having a more reduced anterobasal cingulid which continues posteriorly through the labial wall of the tooth. No posterobasal cingulid is present, and the entoconid is more restricted to the lingual margin of the tooth. The cristid obliqua is longer than in G. brasiliensis but shorter than in G. crocheti.]. Its type specimen is MPEF-PV 10513, a set of teeth (isolated left m4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Pan de Azucar, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
