LSID. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:096CC30C-C216-4E20-BFE3-D0FEACAAE9AC Derivation of name. In honour of the late Dr Sara Ballent for her great contribution to the study of Ostracoda, and in particular to those of the Jurassic and Cretaceous of the Neuquen Basin, Argentina.
Taxonomy
Cytherella saraballentae was named by Ceolin et al. (2015). Its type specimen is LM-FCEN 3232, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Azul CA 23, which is in a Danian marine siltstone in the Jagüel Formation of Argentina.
