Derivation of name. Gr. dqm hydron, water; plus dmalj dynamicus, power, strongly. With reference to the supremely hydrodynamical outline and shape of this species.
Taxonomy
Argilloecia hydrodynamicus was named by Ceolin et al. (2015). Its type specimen is LM-FCEN 3255, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Azul CA 21, which is in a Danian marine siltstone in the Jagüel Formation of Argentina.
