Derivation of name. Gr. dmes dinetos, whorled around. With reference to the circular disposition of the ribs on the valve surface that somewhat resemble a whirlpool.

Taxonomy
Eucythere dinetos was named by Ceolin et al. (2015). Its type specimen is LM-FCEN 3272, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Azul CA 21, which is in a Danian marine siltstone in the Jagüel Formation of Argentina.
