Derivation of name. L. bi, two, dentino, of teeth. With reference to the tooth-like apex of the alar process.
Taxonomy
Cytheropteron bidentinos was named by Ceolin et al. (2015). Its type specimen is LM-FCEN 3286, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Azul CA 21, which is in a Danian marine siltstone in the Jagüel Formation of Argentina.
