Taxonomy
Cytherella utilis was named by Bertels (1968). Its type specimen is CP-11, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huantraico (CP-11), which is in a Maastrichtian/Danian marine claystone in the Huantraico Formation of Argentina.
