Pliosaccomys prowitteorum
Taxonomy
Pliosaccomys prowitteorum was named by Martin and Mallory (2011). Its type specimen is UWBM 58806, a partial skeleton (right dentary with i, p4-m2 and associated poorly preserved postcranial elements), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wilbur Locality, SDSM V8910, which is in a Hemphillian lacustrine diatomite/volcaniclastic in the Ellensburg Formation of Washington.
