Taxonomy
Actinocythereis indigena was named by Bertels (1969). Its type specimen is FCEN-LM 248, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huantraico (CP-6), which is in a Danian marine limestone in the Roca Formation of Argentina.
