Taxonomy
Synechodus seinstedtensis was named by Thies et al. (2014). Its type specimen is NKP 3964, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fuchsberg bone bed, Outcrop F13, Seinstedt, which is in a Rhaetian marine sandstone in Germany.
