Taxonomy
Paralimnocythere aucamahuevoensis was named by Carignano and Cusminsky (2015). Its type specimen is MLP-MI 1880, a carapace (Complete caparace), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sección Auca Mahuevo (Muestra 5), which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian shallow subtidal sandstone/mudstone in the Allen Formation of Argentina.

A. P. Carignano and G. C. Cusminsky 2015A species of Paralimnocythere Carbonnel ornamented by a posterodorsal tubercle that points backwards and a slender, much extended, s-shaped alar expansion which ends in a small protuberance. Surface ornamentation with thin ribs forming a polygonal reticulum and running parallel at the ventral surface. The dorsal margin of the carapaces is strongly inclined backwards.
