Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
E. A. Musacchio 1973Carapace of subtrapezoidal outline in lateral view, with net cardinal angles and almost straight dorsal edge, inclined towards right valve greater than left valve. Wide, subvertical, anterodorsal depression located behind the anterior cardinal angle, from the dorsal edge up to approximately half height. Very marked ornamentation consisting of tubercles and/or spines, numerous and hollow, arranged, some of them respecting certain alignments (subparallel to the anterior edge or other sections of the contour). In the type species punctuations also appear and papillae. A ridge may also appear on the left valve. “submarginal” on the ventral edge, Adonta hinge. Muscular impressions similar to Ilyocypris (Ilyocypris). Internal lamella very fragile, forming a moderately deep but very narrow at the anterior edge. pore channels numerous, very fine, almost straight marginals, sometimes united at the base.
