Taxonomy
Bythocythere triebeli was named by Bertels (1969). Its type specimen is FCEN-LM 297, a carapace (Complete caparace), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huantraico (CP-5), which is in a Danian marine limestone in the Roca Formation of Argentina.
