Cryptamphorella was named by Dumitrica (1970) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: 685].

It was assigned to Williriedellidae by Kiessling (1995), Zügel (1997); and to Nassellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
