Taxonomy
Brachyoxylon patagonicum was named by Rombola et al. (2022). Its type specimen is MPM PB 18277, a wood, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Los Hornos, which is in a Campanian fluvial mudstone/sandstone in the Cerro Fortaleza Formation of Argentina.
