Taxonomy
Cytherella symmetrica was named by Alexander (1934). It is not extant. Its type locality is Station 21, tributary of Tehuacana Creek, which is in a Danian/Selandian marginal marine claystone in the Wills Point Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Cavellina symmetrica by Jung Echols and Creath (1959).
