Taxonomy
Cytherella ovoidiformis was named by Harlton (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gunsight, Gunsight Limestone, Stephens, which is in a Virgilian carbonate limestone in the Gunsight Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Cavellina ovoidiformis by Jung Echols and Creath (1959).
