Taxonomy
Asterocyathus salairicus was named by Vologdin (1940). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Belaya Gorka, Gorskino, which is in an Atdabanian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Gavrilovskoe Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Asterocyathus.
