Meristosoma paradoxum was named by Robison and Wiley (1995) [= Arthropod (undetermined genus) Gunther & Gunther 1981, p. 63, P1. 49A, B.]. Its type specimen is KUMIP 204511 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Meristosoma.
