Taxonomy
Anabarites ternarius was named by Rozanov et al. (1969). Its type specimen is GIN 3593/127, an other, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Anabaritellus tricarinatus by Landing and Murphy (1991); it was recombined as Selindeochrea ternaria by Kouchinsky et al. (2017).
