Merycodus joraki
Taxonomy
Meryceros joraki was named by Frick (1937). Its type specimen is F:AM 31163, a partial skull (Major portion of cranium with cheek teeth. and right horn), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hemicyon Quarry, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Barstow Formation of California.
It was recombined as Merycodus joraki by Voorhies (1990) and Janis and Manning (1998).
