Mesoscalops montanensis

Taxonomy
Mesoscalops montanensis was named by Barnosky (1981). Its type specimen is UWBM 54708, a skeleton (partially articulated skeleton including skull and jaws, vertebral column, ribs, nearly complete forelimb, and partial hind limb), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Spring Creek 1 (Level 2), which is in a Hemingfordian/Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Deep River Formation of Montana.
