Notopocorystes (Cretacoranina) exiguus was named by Glaessner (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pipanyimili Creek, which is in a Cenomanian marine claystone in the Bathurst Island Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Notopocorystes exiguus by Schweitzer et al. (2010); it was recombined as Eucorystes exiguus by van Bakel et al. (2012).
