Taxonomy
Stenorhynchus was named by Lamarck (1818). It is extant. It is the type genus of Stenorhynchinae.

It was reranked as Macropodia (Stenorhynchus) by Smirnov (1929).

It was assigned to Macropodia by Smirnov (1929); to Inachidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Stenorhynchinae by Schweitzer et al. (2020).
