Kampecaris dinmorensis was named by Clarke (1951). Its type specimen is BMNH In. 44450, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Howe Wood quarry, Dinmore Hill, which is in a Lochkovian/Pragian marine sandstone in the United Kingdom.
