Taxonomy
Plagiolophus weaveri was named by Rathbun (1926). Its type specimen is USNM 353351 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Glyphithyreus weaveri by Squires (1984); it was recombined as Orbitoplax weaveri by Schweitzer et al. (2010), Schweitzer et al. (2022) and Gustafson (2023).
