Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
T. Kimura and Y. Hasegawa 2024Eolipotes differs from other Lipotidae, Lipotes and Parapontoporia, by having the posterior extremity of the premaxilla directly contacting the antero- lateral angle of the nasal, and anteroposteriorly shorter pterygoid sinus fossa, whose anterior extremity is not anteriorly extended beyond the level of the antorbital notch, lower maxillary crest posterolateral to the maxil- lary eminence, and broader anterior incisure of periotic; further differs from Lipotes by having anteroposteriorly elongated frontal in cranial vertex, and by lacking salient anteroposterior ridges on the dorsal surface of anterior process of periotic.
