Lepidoproetus (Lepidoproetus) maharchianus was named by Johnson and Fortey (2012). Its type specimen is NHM It 28952 and is a 3D body fossil.

R. G. Johnson and R. A. Fortey 2012 | Tongue-shaped glabella as wide (tr.) as long (sag.) and no preglabellar field on the midline. The broad (sag.) anterior border protrudes slightly medially and its dorsal surface is concave, but the anterior portion is not up-turned as in the type species. Librigenal spines reach posteriorly as far as the pygidium. Thorax has nine thoracic segments lacking medial spines. The pygidium has a transversely truncate posterior margin and has four axial rings plus a terminal piece. Pygidal border region broad, flat and ill-defined by a shallow border furrow. |
