Taxonomy
Mylodon sulcidens was named by Cope (1895). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Petite Anse, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Louisiana.
It was synonymized subjectively with Mylodon harlani by Stock (1914); it was synonymized subjectively with Glossotherium harlani by Kurten and Anderson (1980); it was synonymized subjectively with Paramylodon harlani by McDonald (1995).
