Taxonomy
Myotis rectidens was named by Choate and Hall (1967). Its type specimen is SMU 61780, a mandible (left dentary with c1-m2), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was corrected as Myotis rectidentis by Kurten and Anderson (1980).
