Taxonomy
Nyctophus gemellarii was named by Cocco (1838). It is extant.

It was recombined as Diaphus (Hyperphotops) gemellarii by Fraser-Brunner (1949); it was recombined as Lobianchia gemellari by Girone et al. (2006); it was recombined as Lobianchia gemellarii by Schwarzhans and Ohe (2019).
