Taxonomy
Myctophum leucopsarum was named by Eigenmann and Eigenmann (1890). It is extant.

It was recombined as Lampanyctus (Stenobrachius) leucopsarum by Fraser-Brunner (1949); it was recombined as Stenobrachius leucopsarum by Fierstine et al. (2012); it was recombined as Stenobrachius leucopsarus by Fitch (1969) and Welton (2015).
