Taxonomy
Dalmanites rouaulti was named by Tromelin and Lebesconte (1876). Its type specimen is IGR 589, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Cryphaeus rouaulti by Pichard (1928); it was recombined as Asteropyge rouaulti by Péneau (1928); it was recombined as Acaste rouaulti by Péneau (1935); it was recombined as Crozonaspis rouaulti by Henry (1968); it was recombined as Acastava roualti by Wrona (1980); it was misspelled as Acastella roualti by Berry and Boucot (1973); it was recombined as Acastella rouaulti by Pillet (1959), Lemke (2020).
