Erbenaspis erbeni was named by Alberti (1970) [Erbenaspis? erbeni]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Upper Hossei and Mogran Beds, RT II, RT IV, and RT X, Rabat-Tiflet Area, Morocco, which is in a Lochkovian marine limestone/shale in the Hossei Beds Formation of Morocco.
