Taxonomy
Homomya austinensis was named by Shattuck (1903). Its type specimen is NMNH PAL 315995 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shoal Creek, Austin, which is in a Cenomanian marine limestone in the Buda Limestone Formation of Texas.
