Cyphaspides ammari was named by Chatterton et al. (2020) [= ?1969 Cyphaspides ex aff. C. holinensis Rů žička, 1939, Alberti, p. 389. = ?2018 Cyphaspides sp. Crônier et al., p. 252, figs. 4m–p.]. Its type specimen is UA14313 (complete articulated carapace) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Talawarite. MRZ-TB, which is in an Eifelian deep subtidal wackestone/packstone in the Bou Tchrafine Formation of Morocco.
