Taxonomy
Dionacoelia secessus was named by Mottequin (2005). Its type specimen is IRScN8 a 12111 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boussu-en-Fagne, by way of Hermitage, which is in a Frasnian marginal marine shale/limestone in the Moulin Lienaux Formation of Belgium.
