Taxonomy
Olenus alpha was named by Henningsmoen (1957). Its type specimen is PMO 66756, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mælum, which is in a Maentwrogian marine shale in the Alum Shale Formation of Norway.
