Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. A. Nogueira et al. 2024Medium-sized ornithopod diagnosable on the basis of the following combination of characters: 1- anterior proximal caudals with parallelogram-shaped centra (a condition shared with Dysalotosaurus and Dryosaurus); 2- anterior caudals of the distal part of the tail with rod-like and posterodorsally oriented transverse processes (feature shared with Anabisetia), 3- proximal end of fibula with a deep and proximodistally extended fossa (possible autapomorphic feature unknown in other elasmarians), 4- transversely compressed calcaneus, its transverse width representing approximately a third of its anteroposterior length (in other elasmarians, the calcaneum is proportionally wider), 5- tibial articular surface of the calcaneus nearly flat (condition shared with Sektensaurus, forming a deep and cotyle-like concavity in Talenkauen), 6- posterior dorsal with hyposphene articulation (feature exclusively shared with Macrogryphosaurus); 7- lateral surface of the hyposphene deeply excavated.
