Taxonomy
Austerops salamandar was named by McKellar and Chatterton (2009). Its type specimen is UA6892 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 282 m., Section 1, Jbel Oufatene. Diademaproetus Couche, which is in an Eifelian carbonate limestone in the El Otfal Formation of Morocco.
